Just five days ago, Garrison took to Instagram to reveal that he had added a new cute member to his family.

“Newest edition to my home, Ms Buttons. She’s 9 years old and was on the line for euthanasia but my savior complex couldn’t suffice,” the reality star wrote in the caption alongside two snaps.

In the first photo, Garrison held up Ms Buttons close to his face while smiling wide.

She’s a gorgeous grey cat with striking yellow eyes, and the TLC star appeared to had already be in love with his new pet.

The second picture showed his two other cats standing in a circle with Ms Buttons as she was already being welcomed into the family.

The comments on the post praised Garrison for adopting a senior cat, and a few lovingly called him a “crazy cat lady.”

Robert Garrison Brown was born on April 10, 1998, as his father’s eighth child and Janelle’s fourth.

Garrison had been estranged from his polygamist dad, Kody Brown, for a few years, but he was still close to his mother and siblings.

Then, on March 5, 2024, police in Flagstaff, Arizona were called to Garrison’s home where they discovered his body.

He was dead at the scene and police say he had suffered an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police also said that Garrison’s brother Gabriel had arrived at the home when he made the discovery.

Gabriel is 22 years old and lived with his older brother before his death.

“It is with great sadness I confirm Mr. Robert Garrison Brown was located in his residence deceased, as a result of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound,” Flagstaff Police Department told The U.S. Sun.

“On 03/05/2024 Flagstaff Police officers responded to a report of a death inside a home.

“Upon arrival, officers met with a sibling, identified as ‘Gabe,’ and discovered Mr. Brown deceased as a result of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.”

“At this time there is not any indication of foul play, and Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division are investigating,” the statement concluded.

On Tuesday afternoon, after the news broke, Janelle made an Instagram post to honor her late son.

It was a photo of Garrison wearing his Army uniform and another where he appeared to be traveling.

“Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown,” the grieving mother wrote.

“He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him. His loss will leave such a big hole in our lives that it takes our breath away.

“We ask that you please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory.”

The comments on this particular post were turned off, but fans made their way to other social media posts to share their grief.

“I’m so sorry about Garrison. You will be in my prayers,” one person shared.

“Janelle- I have no words…. From one mom to another I can’t imagine the devastation you’re feeling.”

“Know that you’re not alone as you walk your grief journey…sending you prayers for healing and peace,” added another.

Garrison’s mother, father, 17 siblings, and his father’s three sister wives will all be mourning the young man.
